The highly awaited trailer of Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Dunki’ was unveiled as Drop 4 by the film team on Tuesday, December 5.

A maiden collaboration between SRK and director Rajkumar Hirani, “Dunki” is slated to hit theaters on December 21. The trailer paints a vivid picture of this upcoming film and has received rave reviews from fans, with many praising the aesthetics of the upcoming film.

The trailer opens with Shah Rukh Khan’s character, Hardy, standing on a moving train, setting the scene in the village of Laltu in 1995. He introduces his friends Sukhi (played by Vicky Kaushal), grappling with learning English, and Mannu (portrayed by Taapsee Pannu), a supportive friend who defends Hardy against ridicule for his language skills.

Boman Irani appears as their English teacher, promising to prepare them for a life abroad. The characters justify their desire to relocate overseas despite language barriers, drawing parallels to the British rule in India without knowing Hindi.

The trailer reveals the friends crossing borders, facing dangers including wielding a gun in self-defense. A significant reveal is Shah Rukh Khan’s aged appearance 25 years later, participating in a race as an older Hardy, reminiscent of his role as Vikram Rathore in “Jawan” earlier this year.

“Dunki” is described as a heartwarming tale of four friends on a transformative journey to achieve their dreams. It weaves together disparate stories of love and friendship, promising both humor and poignant moments.

Produced by Red Chillies Entertainment, Jio Studios, and Rajkumar Hirani Films, “Dunki” is Shah Rukh Khan’s third film this year, following his roles in “Pathaan” and “Jawan.”

Taran Adarsh praised the trailer, labeling it a winner, reflecting the buzz and anticipation among viewers for this upcoming Shah Rukh Khan starrer. Scheduled for a Christmas release, “Dunki” is poised to bring audiences a blend of action, emotion, and humor.

Here are some of the audience reactions:
