In a swift operation, Shankaranarayana police arrested two cattle thieves in Mangaluru on Saturday, following the theft of a cow near Shankaranarayana Circle on the morning of June 25. The accused were presented before the court and have been remanded in judicial custody for 15 days.

The thieves, who arrived in a luxury car, stole a cow that was resting near Shankaranarayana Circle. The incident was captured on the CCTV cameras installed by the Gram Panchayat.

Based on the CCTV footage, the police tracked down and arrested the suspects, Nizamuddin A.H. and Mohammad Ansar, in Asaigoli, Mangalore. The police also seized the Maruti Baleno car used in the crime.

The successful operation by the police has been lauded by pro-Hindu organizations, as cattle theft has been a recurring issue in areas. The regions of Shankaranarayana and Amasebailu, near the Udupi district border, have witnessed frequent cattle thefts. The organizations commended the police for their efforts in apprehending the culprits.
