Shirva: At an age when most kids are just beginning to learn rhymes and letters, five-year-old Vyom Kunder from Shirva has left everyone in awe with his astounding memory. This little prodigy can identify the national flags of 70 countries and the logos of over 50 companies effortlessly!

Vyom is the son of Prashant Kunder, an employee at HSBC Bank in Dubai, and Shweta Kunder, a Finance Manager at a private company in Dubai.

During the COVID-19 lockdown, Vyom started watching TV and mobile devices. Through YouTube, he began recognizing and naming various national flags.

Unlike other children of his age, he showed little interest in cartoons and developed a keen interest in cricket, quizzes, various vehicles, and colors. With his incredible memory, for the past six months, he has been identifying national flags, vehicles, cricketers, and product/company logos without any help.

Vyom’s interest in cricket allows him to recognize IPL team players. He also identifies star football and cricket players and their countries. During travel, he accurately identifies traffic signals. Shweta Kunder, his proud mother, says Vyom has a habit of asking questions about various topics and is eager to gain complete knowledge about them.

Born and raised in Dubai, Vyom is studying in UKG at JSS International School, Dubai. Despite being shy, he actively participates in every school activity and is adored by his teachers.

Vyom speaks fluent English but struggles with Tulu. He is currently in his native village to learn Tulu during his vacation, staying with his grandparents Govind Kunder and Rajeevi Kunder. Although he finds it difficult to speak Tulu with his grandmother, he humorously suggests she learn English instead.

At a time when children are often seen going astray due to mobile addiction, Vyom has become a role model by cultivating an interest in various subjects through YouTube.

“Vyom is very smart with a sharp memory and a bit of a restless mind. He is interested in everything and even tells us about traffic signals while traveling. He learned colors and the alphabet from his mobile. We didn’t teach him. He is eager to achieve more, and may God bless him,” says Shweta Kunder, Vyom’s mother.
