Mangaluru: An FIR has been registered at the Kavoor police station in connection with the discovery of dead sheep near the old NITK toll gate in Suratkal.
Approximately 15 dead sheep were found dumped near the old NITK toll gate in Suratkal.
On the morning of August 4, local residents informed the 2nd Ward Corporator, Shwetha Poojary, who then visited the site with municipal officers and staff. The carcasses were subsequently buried in a safe location.
Preliminary investigations suggest that traders from North Karnataka, transporting sheep to Mangaluru for sale, might have dumped the dead sheep on the roadside while returning. Measures are being taken to identify those responsible.
An FIR has been registered at the Kavoor police station, police said.
