Shimoga: Denied money for booze, liquor addict kills grandmother

Shimoga: In a gruesome incident, an alcohol addicted youth killed his grandmother brutally by hitting her head with a pestle and injured his neighbour who tried to stop him in Bhadravathi.

The deceased is identified as Kittamma and the accused id Arun (26)

Arun was addicted to the liquor and asked his grandmother for money. However, she denied to pay him money. Irked by this, he hit her head with a pestle.

A neighbour who saw him hitting his grandmother tried to stop him but Arun hit her as well.  She is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Bhadravathi.

Bhadravathi rural police have registered a case with this regard.
