Shimoga: Two officials suspended for financial irregularities

Shimoga: Two officials responsible for causing financial losses to the government through the submission of bogus bills and substandard work in the Jaljeevan Mission project have been suspended.

SB Kotresh, Assistant Executive Engineer of the Rural Drinking Water and Sanitation Department, and B. Shekhar Naik, Assistant Engineer are the officials who have been suspended.

Following multiple complaints, an investigation team, led by the Executive Engineer of the Rural Drinking Water and Sanitation Department, conducted a thorough inspection of villages in the rural areas of Shimoga.

The villages inspected included Hunasodu, Abbalagere, Belalakatte, Melina Hanasavadi, Bedara Hosahalli, and Holehatti.

The investigation uncovered evidence of poor workmanship and substandard implementation of the Jaljeevan Mission project.

Based on the comprehensive report submitted by the investigation team, both the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Departments took prompt action and suspended the officials involved.
