Sakleshpur: The restriction on vehicular movement at Donigal of Shiradi Ghat has been lifted on Thursday noon.

Regarding this, Hassan district Deputy Commissioner R Girish has issued a circular.

Currently, as a temporary measure, multi-axal vehicles weighing 20 tonnes and below, public and private transport vehicles, and all the other vehicles are allowed one-way travel from 6 AM to 6 PM.

Only emergency service vehicles like ambulances, fire engines, etc, will be allowed 24X7.

Meanwhile, the contractors repairing the ghat roads have placed bags of M Sand at the place where the landslide had occurred. This is now being placed to withstand landslides.

It can be noted that about a week ago due to landslides, vehicular movement from Mangaluru-Bengaluru and vice versa, was completely prohibited on Shiradi Ghat.
