Shiroor: College student commits suicide because mother chided her

Byndoor: A female college student who was lagging in studies committed suicide by hanging at her home at Alwegadde in Shiroor. The deceased is identified as Shruti (19), daughter of Padmavati, a resident of Alwegadde.

The deceased was pursuing B.Com at Sudhindra College in Bhatkal and was slightly lagging in her studies. Hence, her mother used to chide her once in a while, urging her to study more.

On Wednesday night, the mother had once again scolded the Shruti and hurt by this, the girl committed suicide on Thursday morning by hanging from the ceiling with a shawl.

Byndoor police have registered a case in this regard.
