Udupi: Two fishermen died after a fishing boat capsized at sea off the coast near Shiroor Kaluhitlu.
The deceased have been identified as Nannu Abdul Sattar (45), a resident of Hadavinakone Shiroor and Misbah Yusuf (48), a resident of Kudwai Road Bhatkal.
Three fishermen had ventured into the sea at 10 PM on Sunday on the boat, Numeira Anjum (IND KA 03 MO-4827). At around 1.30 AM on Monday, when they were returning ashore, the boat overturned at Kaluhitlu Alive (Estuary). One of the men overboard, identified as Buddu Mukhtar, was rescued by the crew of another boat.
Coast Guard and security personnel arrived at the spot. A case has been registered in Byndoor police station.
