Shiroor Seer’s death condolence meeting, procession on Aug 18th

Udupi: A public condolence programme and a silent procession has been organize to condole the death of Lakshmivara Tirtha Swami of Shiroor Mutt, who died recently, by the Shiroor Shri Abhimanigala Samiti on Saturday August 18th.
On Thursday, Radhakrishna Shetty, president of samiti addressed the media and said that the rituals which should have been held on the 13th day after the Shiroor seer’s death, were yet to be held at the base mutt in Shiroor.
During the Late Seer’s Paryayas and also otherwise, the Shiroor seer had promoted and encouraged arts and artistes.He encouraged and held competitions for the ‘Huli Vesha’ groups. He donated generously to these groups. He helped the Ganeshotsava Samitis during the Ganesh Chaturthi festival as well.
a condolence meeting will be held at the Mathura Chatra building from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. by the samithi on August 18. It would be followed by a silent procession on the Car Street. The procession would culminate in front of the Shiroor Mutt.
Ishavittaladas Swami of Kemar Mutt, Santoshguruji of Barkur Sansthan, and Shiroor seer’s advocate Ravikiran Murudeshwar will participate in the condolence meeting.
