Udupi:  New developments have emerged in connection to the sad demise of Shiroor Lakshmivara Theertha Swamiji, giving possible reason for his untimely demise on July 19th.

With the Math sources claiming that the seer was poisoned and the seer’s brother Lathavya Acharya filing complaint with Hiriyadka police alleging foul play, the seer’s death has been covered with many suspicions.

Pesticide poisoning

The theory that the Swamiji’s death was due to pesticide poisoning is getting credence after reports saying that doctors have found traces of organophosphorus in the body of Sri Shiroor Lakshmivara Theertha Swamiji have emerged.

It is said that initially the doctors did not find anything unusual, but after the Seer was admitted into the hospital, the doctors found the presence of organophosphorus while conducting in-depth investigation. The presence of the substance was tested positive after samples from the stomach collected six hours after the seer’s admission were subjected to the test.

The symptoms of loose motion, vomiting with blood traces, damage to inner organs and other signs are similar to the damages normally caused by consumption of pesticides, said the doctors.

Business ventures

There is suspicion that the unnatural death of the seer could have been caused relating to property deals. The seer had complained to the Daivas as well as at his base Math that he had been cheated by two builders to the tune of Rs. 26 crore.

Three months back during a Nema, the late Swamiji had confessed to the Daivas that two Mumbai-based builders had cheated him to the tune of Rs. 12 crore and Rs. 14 crore respectively.

It is also being said that the seer has had business links with several individuals and many were due to pay him huge amounts.
