Shirva: A class 5 student of Don Bosco English Medium School will be felicitated by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on January 25 and will also witness the Republic Day parade.
Aidan Chris Danthy is one of the 25 winners of the Veergatha 2.0 organized by the Ministry of Defense in coordination with the Ministry of Education. The students had to pen a poem/essay/painting portraying the story of gallantry award winners.
Aidan, who participated in class 3-5 category, had written a poem on Param Veera Chakra awardee Capt. Vikram Batra. The results of the competition were announced on January 3.
The school authorities expressed their joy at Aidan’s feat.
Congratulating Aidan, Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje in a tweet said: “Udupi’s prodigy, Aidan Chris Denthi (sic), will be one of the special guests in the Republic Day parade. He has won the Veergatha 2.0 for portraying the gallantry of PVC Captain Vikram Batra through a Hindi poem. I extend my heartiest congratulations and wishes to him.”
