Shirva: A 2-year-old girl who was missing from Saturday while out with her mother shopping was found dead on Sunday.
Priyanka, a resident of Vajpayee Colony in Adamaru, was taken by her mother to Mudarangadi to buy clothes on Saturday evening.
Priyanka, who was playing inside and outside the shop while her mother was checking clothes, suddenly disappeared. Terrified, her mother, the shopkeeper and shop workers searched for her but could not find her.
Her mother then informed Shirva police station.
On Sunday, a shop worker and a woman found the blue-coloured bag with Priyanka floating in the well behind the shop. On informing the police they immediately called in firefighters who could not find Priyanka.
A diving expert, Ashok Shetty, then entered the well and brought up the dead body of Priyanka from under 25 feet of water.
Shirva police have registered a case and are continuing their investigation.
