Shirva: Tempo hits several vehicles and overturns

Shirva: A tempo that was carrying scrap materials hit several vehicles before overturning near the bus stand at Surya Chaitanya School Kuthyar on Sunday, October 23.

The tempo was transporting scrap materials to Kolnad in Mulki from Shiva at the time of the incident.

The tempo first hit a Honda Activa at a turn near Kuthyar Uppari, injuring rider Rafeeq. Thereafter, the tempo collided with another two-wheeler injuring Sadashiva Acharya. Though Acharya escaped with minor injuries, his vehicle was completely wrecked in the incident.

The tempo, then, overturned near the bus stand at Surya Chaitanya School.

The driver of the tempo, identified as Rajesh (38) fled from the accident spot. He was later caught by the villagers and handed to the police.
