Shirva: Woman dies in well collapse

Shirva: In a tragic incident, a woman died after falling into a well as it caved in due to heavy rainfall near Padur-Kuralu under Shirva police station limits on Monday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Gulabi (43). Her sister Prema registered a complaint at the Shirva police station about the incident.

According to the complaint, Gulabi had been to the well near the house they lived in to draw water. Suddenly a loud noise was heard. It was noticed that the water saturated soil of the well had collapse, and Gulabi had fallen into the well.

Though Gulabi was lifted out of the well with the help from neighbours, however she could not be saved.
