Shirva: Woman, young man killed in ghastly road accident

Shirva: Two occupants of a car died in a ghastly road accident when the vehicle collided head-on with an oncoming tempo near Panjimaru Palame on Katapady-Shirva main road here on Saturday, December 24.

The deceased included a woman and a young man. Their identities could not be immediately ascertained. The car’s occupants are believed to be from Bengaluru. Pawan B. S (27) was found printed on a driver’s license found at the accident scene.

The car was moving towards Shirva from Katapady when it collided head-on with a tempo coming from the opposite direction. As a result of the impact, the woman died on the spot. The youth who was seriously injured was rushed to the Government hospital in Udupi where he was declared dead.

The incident took place under Shirwa police station limits. Thepolice officials reached the spot and are conducting an inspection.
