Pune: A speeding car allegedly ran over two girls in Maharashtra’s Baramati-Morgaon Road near Pune this morning.

It has been reported that the car ran over three school going girls, two girls died on spot and one succumbed to serious injuries.

A group of angry locals set the SUV on fire, alleged that the car belongs to a Shiv Sena leader, Pappu Mane, who was rashly driving the car.

Mane has been detained for questioning. It is not clear whether he was driving his SUV or was even in it when it hit the girls around 8 am. The police say initial questioning indicates that the politician’s friend had borrowed his car.
