Shivamogga: At least 40 injured as buses collide head-on

‎Shivamogga:‎‎ More than 40 people were injured in a ghastly road accident between two buses near Umblebailu in Shivamogga on Friday, July 1.

A government moving towards Shivamogga from N R Pura smashed head-on with an oncoming private bus that was ferrying passengers to  N R Pura.  The accident took place at Thotadakere cross near Umblebailu, sources said.

‎At the time of the accident, there were more than 45 passengers on the government bus, whereas the private bus was carrying 35 passengers, sources said.

‎The injured have been admitted to McGann Government Hospital and other private hospitals in Shivamogga. The driver of the private bus, identified as Shridhar, is said to be critical and is battling life and death at a private hospital, sources added.

In the impact, the front portions of both buses were completely damaged.
