Shivamogga: In a tragic incident, slabs covering a drain collapsed at Vinobanagar, resulting in the death of a 45-year-old man.
The deceased has been identified as Muttappa, a resident of Bommanakatte in Shivamogga city.
Muttappa, a scrap dealer, had reportedly been to the area to urinate. He met his demise when the slab gave way, causing him to fall into a ten-foot-deep drain.
The body has been taken to McGann Hospital.
Family members of the deceased are alleging poor workmanship as the cause behind the tragic event. They are calling for prompt action against those responsible and demanding appropriate compensation for the grieving family.
The incident happened in the area under the jurisdiction of Vinobanagar police station.
