Shivamogga:  Ayanur Manjunath, the Congress candidate for the South-West Graduate Constituency, mentioned former MLA Raghupathi Bhat told him “not to do anything” when he had previously felt unfairly treated by the BJP. “Now that situation has come to him (Raghupathi Bhat). I will not say anything more about it,” he added.

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Manjunath stated that he will not talk much about his competitors. Instead, he will ask fellow graduates for their votes. “I also get more votes from BJP,” he said.

He highlighted his efforts in connecting with voters and the trust he has gained from the workers. “I have fought for them for the last five years. I have worked hard on issues like pension, pay discrimination in the Auradkar report, and transfers. I am confident that I will win,” he said.

Manjunath described himself as a hopeful candidate for workers, stressing his dedication to their causes. “Some people run for elections just to become MLAs once in their life. I have shed my blood for issues of the workers. My struggle will continue for NPS and OPS. The Seventh Pay Commission report is yet to be implemented. I will solve problems in the health and police departments. I ask for votes based on my work, not on caste or religion,” he declared.

He reminded voters of his past victory, “Last time I won by a margin of 26,000 votes. Vote without confusion or slander. Compare me with other candidates and then vote.”

Manjunath also mentioned his discussions with Congress rebel SP Dinesh and expressed his belief that Dinesh would withdraw from the contest.

He concluded by announcing his plans to file his nomination in Mysuru tomorrow, stating, “People don’t show strength by gathering crowds.”
