Shivamogga: CM BSY inspects works at new airport; unveils designs of passenger terminal, ATC

Shivamogga: Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa on Saturday reviewed the works at the under-construction airport here.
He inspected the runway and the terminal area and also unveiled the design of the airport’s passenger terminal, the Air Traffic Control tower.
Speaking to reporters later he said, “The Shivamogga airport is being constructed at a cost of Rs 384 crore. The works are being done in two phases. Runway work is underway in the first phase while in the second phase the passenger terminal and ATC will be constructed. Shimoga district will benefit immensely once the airport is completed. I have instructed the authorities to complete the works by the end of June 2022.”
“The Hassan district will also have an airport. I will visit there with Deve Gowda and inaugurate the works,” he added.
Yeddiyurappa was accompanied by Urban Development Minister Basavaraj, MP BY Raghavendra and Thirthahalli MLA Araga Jnanendra.
