Shivamogga: Earthquake tremors felt in Shiralakoppa; screenshot goes viral

Shivamogga: Earthquake tremors were reportedly felt in many parts of Shikaripura taluk here in the early hours of October 6.

Residents said that they were jolted awake by the tremors at around 3.55 AM. As the shaking continued, many among them rushed out of their houses in panic. Some also claimed to have heard a loud noise.

However, official confirmation of the tremor is awaited.

Screenshot goes viral

A screenshot claiming that a Richter 4.1 magnitude earthquake hit the Shiralakoppa area has gone viral on social media. The image showed a bright red mark on a map showing Shiralakoppa as the epicenter.

However, at the time of publishing this news, neither the district nor the taluk administration has confirmed the earthquake.
