Shivamogga: Shivamogga Deputy Commissioner Selvamani R issued a clarification on Saturday after school officials spread misinformation about 58 students being suspended for protesting for their right to wear hijab to school.
No student has been suspended for protesting, the DC clarified.
Rumors spread like wildfire that 58 students of Karnataka Public School had been suspended for demanding to be allowed to wear hijab. But they were found to be untrue.
It was revealed that the school officials had spread the misinformation to threaten the students. This had created confusion in the official circles and the DC was angry at the officials for spreading lies.
