Shivamogga: Police shoot accused in leg amid arrest operation

In a tense confrontation near Beeranakere in Shimoga district, police officials resorted to firing at the leg of a notorious rowdy sheeter, Shohib, as he allegedly attempted to attack them during an arrest operation.
The incident unfolded when PSI Kumar and Head Constable Annappa from Shivamogga Rural Police Station went to apprehend Shohib in connection with a triple murder case in Shivamogga. Reportedly, Shohib resisted arrest and launched a violent assault on the officers, prompting them to use firearms in self-defense. Consequently, Shohib sustained a gunshot wound to the leg.
Following the altercation, Shohib was taken into police custody.
