Shivamogga: Senior BJP leader M. B. Bhanuprakash from Mathoor passed away on Monday due to a heart attack. He was 69 years old.
Bhanuprakash suffered a heart attack while returning after attending a protest meeting against the fuel price hike. Despite being rushed to hospital, he breathed his last without responding to treatment.
In his political career, Bhanuprakash had served as a Zilla Panchayat member in 2009 and as an MLC from 2013 to 2019. His contributions to BJP party organization were substantial, and he successfully managed various responsibilities within the party.
Elected from the Gajanuru Zilla Panchayat constituency, Bhanuprakash served as a Zilla Panchayat member from 2001 to 2005. He contested against former Chief Minister S. Bangarappa, who had left the BJP to join the Samajwadi Party, in the Shimoga Lok Sabha constituency.
A staunch supporter of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Bhanuprakash was known for his oratory skills and simplicity.
