Shivamogga: Two vehicles laden with explosives were found near Shivamogga Airport at Sogan village on the outskirts of the city.  It is said that 904kg gelatin sticks and 3267 detonators were found in the vehicles.

Sources claim, as there is a quarry at the airport construction site,  it is suspected that the Chikkaballapur based company supplying the explosives might have left the vehicles unattended near the site

After the Hunasodu explosion incident, the district has banned the use of explosives in the city. However, the company supplying explosives requested the District Collector to allow the use of explosives in the site. DC advised the company to seek permission from the Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organization in Mangalore.

Later, It came to light that the company has violated several rules and the permission was not granted

Now, it is speculated that this may be the reason for the employees of the company to abandon the explosive-laden  vehicles near the site

Police officials and the Bomb squad visited the spot and conducted an inspection. A case has been registered against the company.
