Kundapur: In the backdrop of the news on possible reselection of BJP MP Shobha Karandlaje who presently represents Udupi-Chikmagalur constituency as the candidate for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, BJP party workers started a ‘Shobha go back’ movement on Twitter on Thursday.
Within two hours of beginning the #Shobhagoback, there were more than 1,500 tweets. Last time we gave the vote due to the Modi wave. This time a local BJP candidate should become an MP. Shobha Karandlaje has not visited the constituency, enquired about the difficulties of the voters or completed the national highway works, stating which BJP workers started the twitter trend campaign.
Any local can become the candidate and will be supported. If it’s Shobha, then we will definitely not support. Only if it is a local, then there is voice for our concerns. Even if there was an MP for five years, we feel as if we never had one, they alleged.
On Thursday, it was informed through twitter that BJP national president Amith Shah would be visiting Bengaluru in connection to candidate selection. With the opposition coming for the MP from within the party workers itself, there is curiosity regarding decision of the party and how the disgruntled party workers will be won back.
