‎Mandya: ‎ Severed lower body parts of two unidentified women were found at 2 separate locations in Mandya on Wednesday, shocking the locals.

One woman’s mortal remains were found in the Babykere under the Pandavapura police station limits and the other was found in farmland next to the CDS canal at Arekere village under the Arekere police station limits.

In both cases, the upper halves were missing and are yet to be traced. A search has also been launched to locate the remaining halves.‎

Both cases have stark similarities, raising suspicions about whether these murders are connected. Severed parts of only the lower body, i.e. below the abdomen, were found. In both cases, the legs were found tied and put in a bag, and discarded.

According to sources, police suspect that the culprits must have chopped off the bodies and discarded them in water bodies to destroy evidence.

Meanwhile, police have registered two separate cases about the murders. Special teams have been formed to solve the mystery.
