Shivamogga: A complaint has been lodged against former MLA Belur Gopalakrishna at Sagara town police station by BJP workers of the taluk and Vishwa Hindu Parishad taluk unit president for his alleged provocative remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

In the complaint filed by the BJP workers, Arun Kugwe, K V Praveen Kumar and Vishwa Hindu Parishad taluk unit president IV Hegade they alleged that Belur Gopalakrishna has made a provocative comment against Prime Minister of our nation, therefore, legal action against him has to be taken.

A video of Gopalakrishnan’s speech was tweeted by the Karnataka Bharatiya Janata Party on its official Twitter handle on March 5, wherein Gopalkrishna is seen telling “The people who are talking about Godse are anti-national and should be thrown out of the country… If anything or anyone tries to demolish this democracy, he should be killed… If you have guts, kill Modi.”

The Karnataka unit of the BJP has demanded action against Congress leader Belur Gopalakrishna after he gave a call for the assassination of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and tweeted “Belur Gopalakrishna, a Congress leader in a official party function calls for assassination of democratically elected PM Sri @narendramodi ji. Instigating for assassination of PM of a country is a nation threat & we urge @HMOIndia, @CPBlr to impose legal action immediately.”
