Gold Coast: Shreyasi Singh shot her way to the gold medal in the ladies’ Double Trap event on Wednesday at the 21st Commonwealth Games (CWG).
Shreyasi defeated Emma Cox of Australia in a shoot-off to win the title. The two shooters had completed the last round on 96 points each. Cox hit the target just once during the shoot-off yet the Indian held her nerves to score twice and claimed the gold.
Varsha Varman, the second Indian in the shred, passed up a great opportunity for the bronze by a tight edge. She scored 86 to complete fourth, only a solitary point behind bronze medallist Linda Pearson of Scotland.
