Bengaluru: The political scene in Karnataka has been rocked by a purported letter written by former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on his letterhead to AICC President Mallikarjuna Kharge, which has been circulating on social media.

The letter alleges that KPCC president DK Shivakumar has been sidelining Siddaramaiah and touring the state alone to project himself as the leader, while denying Siddaramaiah a ticket to contest from Kolar.

However, in a tweet, Siddaramaiah has denied writing any such letter and termed it as a “fake”. He accused the BJP of creating false propaganda to defame him and his party. He also urged his supporters not to fall prey to such misinformation.

Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar are considered two prominent leaders of the Karnataka Congress, and any rift between them could harm the party’s prospects in the upcoming elections. However, Siddaramaiah clarified that his relationship with Shivakumar is cordial, and any attempt to sour it would not succeed.

The controversy over the alleged letter has sparked reactions from both party workers and fans, who have demanded action against those responsible for creating and distributing it. Siddaramaiah has stated that he will soon file a complaint with the police in this regard.

The Karnataka Assembly elections are scheduled to be held on Moay 10.
