‘Siddaramaiah murdered 24 Hindus’ case: HC stays case against Beltangady BJP MLA Harish Poonja

The High Court, on Friday, issued a stay on the case filed against Beltangady BJP MLA Harish Poonja in relation to the alleged statement made against Siddaramaiah regarding the “killing of 24 Hindu workers.”

The court granted an interim stay on the investigation, stating that the case is not fit to be registered under Section 153A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Harish Poonja had criticized the leaders of some pro-Hindu organizations, questioning the kind of Hinduism they practiced, as they had appealed for votes in the name of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who allegedly “killed 24 Hindu workers”.

These remarks caused a stir and prompted the filing of a complaint against Harish Poonja.
