Mangaluru: Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa stated here on November 4 that Leader of the Opposition Siddaramaiah should stop making irresponsible statements.

He was speaking to the reporters after arriving at the city’s airport for the State BJP executive committee meeting on November 5.

Commenting on Siddaramaiah’s statement that there will be a change of chief minister after the by-elections, he said: “I did not want to react to Siddaramaiah’s statement. However, after so many queries from news media, I had to react. He has said that he has news from Delhi that the Chief Minister will change. Should I also make a similar statement that we have reports from Delhi that the position of the State’s Leader of Opposition will change? I request him not to give out such low statements and speak responsibly.”

“We are a hundred per cent sure of winning in the by-elections of Shira and Rajarajeshwari Nagar and also in elections for the Vidhan Sabha seats. Siddaramaiah has presided over the campaigns for the elections held in those two constituencies. Will there be a change order from Delhi if the Congress loses?” Yediyurappa asked.

Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary and Govind Karjol were present at the airport to welcome the Chief Minister.
