Raichur: Former chief minister Siddaramaiah on Friday, April 19 arrived in Raichur to meet the parents of Madhu, an engineering student, who was found dead under mysterious circumstances and expressed his condolence.
It is gathered that Siddaramaiah met Nagaraj, the father of the deceased and expressed his condolence and with him for a while.
After speaking with him Siddaramaiah spoke to home minister M B Patil and asked the latter to ensure that Madhu gets justice.
Siddaramaiah also advised MB Patil to consider handing over the case to the CID if required, informed sources,
On the other hand, a special investigation team (SIT) has been set up the district police to investigate the case.
The burnt body of a 23-year-old girl, who went missing on April 13 was found hanging from a tree in a farm located behind the Husukina Hanumantha Temple close to Manik Prabhu Layout in Raichur district on April 16.
As per her fellow students, Madhu had attended her college on April 13 morning but was not to be seen later. While her parents did approach the police to file a missing complaint on the same day, the cops they allege did not register a case since she was not a minor.
On April 16, Madhu’s parents got a call from Netaji Nagar Police Station stating that they had found their daughter’s Aadhaar card next to a body along with a suicide note.
