Sindagi Bypolls: Women from BJP candidates family offer prayers at poll booth

Vijayapura: The coting for the Sindagi assembly constituency is underway today. Women from BJP candidate Ramesh Bhusanur’s family offered prayers at the polling station and cast their votes on Saturday.
Voting began at 7 a.m. But before the polling began, Bhusanur’s relative Padmavathi, who arrived at the polling booth in Alamela town and held traditional prayers at the polling door and lit the aarti.
Voting started peacefully, but the pace of polling was slow in the morning.
The Sindagi assembly by-election is being held following the death of former JD(S) MLA M.C. Managuli.
Managuli’s son Ashoka is the Congress candidate and two-time MLA from the same constituency Ramesh Bhusanur is a BJP’s contender. JD(S) has fielded Nazia Angadi. Apart from these stalwarts, there are three more in the fray.
