Sirigere: Ambulance-carrying deceased collides with truck, one killed

Sirigere: A tragic accident occurred near Balekatte village in Chitradurga taluk when an ambulance carrying a deceased person collided with a truck, resulting in the death of a woman and injuries to two others.

The deceased woman has been identified as Sarojamma, (52).

The ambulance was transporting the body of Shivabasava, 50, from Haveri, who had passed away due to a heart attack at Jayadeva Hospital in Bengaluru. While en route to Haveri, the ambulance collided with a truck near Balekatte. The impact of the collision led to the immediate death of Sarojamma, who was a relative of Shivabasava and was traveling in the ambulance.

The two other occupants of the ambulance sustained injuries and have been admitted to the district hospital for treatment.

The incident has been registered under the jurisdiction of the Bharamasagara police station.
