SIT probing Gauri Lankesh murder case gets Rs. 25 lakh cash reward

Bengaluru: The state government on Monday announced a reward of Rs 25 lakh to members of the special investigation team (SIT) probing the Gauri Lankesh murder case for cracking this difficult case.
An order for the release of the reward was issued on May 25.
After working relentlessly for a year the 91-member team of the SIT, headed by Inspector General of Police B K Singh with deputy commissioner of police M N Anucheth as the chief investigation officer, successfully arrested 16 out of 18 people involved in the murder plot.
It is learnt that B K Singh had recently written to the home ministry seeking a cash reward for the team.
Gauri Lankesh, a senior journalist, was murdered in her home in Bengaluru on September 5, 2017.
