SIT recreates Gauri murder scene with accused at the crime spot

Bengaluru: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) recreated Gauri Lankesh’s murder scene, taking her affirmed executioner Parashuram Waghmore to her home in Rajarajeshwari Nagar on Friday June 22 night. 

Waghmore was conveyed to Bengaluru on Friday and was taken to the crime spot around 8 pm, the time Lankesh was really shot on September 5, 2017. 

A SIT source said that Waghmore was made to ride a bike around Lankesh’s neighborhood, a similar way he had done it on the murder night. The performed recce, helped the examination group  understand the exact route the accused executioner took to reach Lankesh’s home and the route he used to escape. 

The authorities likewise said that Waghmore’s height and physical description matches with the murderer’s according to the scientific reports. 

Waghmore who had confessed of practicing shooting and meeting others at Belagavi and Sindagi, was taken to these spots by the SIT. 

The accused had documented a petition that they were not permitted to meet their lawyers or visitors. Their lawyer Amrutesh contended that not enabling a meeting with his clients to get required information amounts to contempt of court. He added that his demand to meet every one of his client was turned down by the SIT. 

The SIT authorities argued back, expressing that the investigation was in progress and they are travelling with the accused to better places as part for the investigation.
