SIT Submits Interim Report to Supreme Court on Mining Scams in Karnataka

Bengaluru: A Lokayukta special investigation team (SIT) has submitted its interim report to Supreme Court on illegal mining cases in Karnataka. The report contains information on Janthakal Mining Scam, arrest of senior IAS officers Gangaram Baderia, former Karnataka chief minister HD Kumaraswamy’s alleged involvement in mining scam and others. The SIT elaborated the steps taken by it on various mining scandals, course of its investigation and others in the report submitted.
SIT has reportedly sought three to four month time to complete its investigation on mining scandals in the state. SIT is very likely to serve notice to former Karnataka Chief Minister Dharam Singh, IAS officers Shankar Lingaiah, Jija Hari Singh and others in connection with illegal mining scam. SIT officials also submitted proofs handed over by Karnataka state former minister Janardhana Reddy to SIT to prove the involvement HD Kumaraswamy in Janthakal mining scam as alleged by him, the sources said.
