Six arrested for hacking govt servers; creating fake land RTC’s: Police

Ramanagara: Police have arrested six persons, including a hardware engineer working at the Deputy Commissioner’s office, for allegedly hacking into government servers to create fake RTCs and using them to sell land parcels.
The accused have been identified as Chikkamari Gowda, Narasimhamurthy, Raghavamurthy, Arun, Nandish, Shivaraju.
Among the arrested are real estate agents, cyber owners, brokers, and a hardware engineer working at the deputy commisssioner’s office, police said.
The accused were arrested based on a complaint registered at the CEN Police station in Ramanagara, which names 7 accused including a land buyer. The search for other accused in the case is ongoing, police added.
Case details:
The accused reportedly hacked into government servers and changed the land ownership details without the knowledge of the revenue department officials.
The accused used the loopholes in the software systems to create RTC for government land. They allegedly sold six acres of land in Bannikuppe, Tungani, and Rampur of Kanakapura taluk. The scam had defrauded the land worth 6 crores, police added.
It has come to light that he has already created seven RTCs and sold land to six people, police said.
