Six cars damaged as overspeeding BMTC bus driver triggers serial accident

Bengaluru: Reckless and negligent driving on part of a BMTC volvo bus driver triggered a serial collision involving six vehicles at Jayanagar here on Friday.

While there were no casualties reported, four cars, one auto-rickshaw and another BMTC bus got damaged in the freak mishap.

The incident took place around 1 pm at Jayanagar 9th Block. The vehicles had stopped in the junction waiting for the signal to go green in their direction. when the driver of the BMTC Volvo plying towards BTM Layout from Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) lost control over the vehicle and rammed into the six vehicles ahead of him.

The accident disrupted vehicular movement for almost an hour till police cleared the vehicles.

According to the police, overspeeding and reckless driving is said to have caused the accident. A case is registered against the driver for his negligent driving.
