Six college students arrested for ragging juniors in Mangaluru

Mangaluru: Six students were arrested on Friday for their alleged involvement in ragging in a private nursing college in Mangaluru.

The arrested accused are identified as Shreelal, Shahid, Amjad, Juraij, Hussain and Lims.

It is said that on July 14 at 8 pm accused Shreelal abused the victims while they were at a restaurant in Falnir. He used foul language and also demanded ‘respect’ from juniors.

Later that night around 10.30 pm, the six accused barged into the victims’ room with lethal weapons, attacked them and threatened to end their life if the victims did not bow their heads upon seeing the seniors.

A case has been registered.
