Six, including 4 children rescued from drowning at beach

Karwar: Six tourists, including four children, were rescued on Monday after being swept away by a sea wave at the Rabindranath beach here.
Hubballi resident Shafi along with 12 other members of his family had arrived on a tour. They were catching waves at a dangerous spot along the beach situated behind the Karwar Aquarium. Suddenly, a strong undercurrent washed six of them away with it.
The lifeguards and the police stationed at the beach took swift rescue actions. They successfully brought all 6 people including 4 children back to the shore.
One child is said to be serious and has been admitted into Medical College Hospital for medical care.
Tourist Mitra Raghavendra Naik, lifeguard Ketan Savant, and employees of Wave Adventures were some of the rescuers involved in the incident
