Ulsoor police have arrested six persons in connection with the murder of a former serviceman at his residence in Goutham Colony, Domlur here.

The accused, including the caretaker hired by the deceased Suresh to attend to his ailing mother were arrested from Andhra Pradesh.

As per the police, Suresh had become acquainted with Babu at a hospital where the latter worked as a male nurse and had hired him to take care of his mother. Babu continued to work for Suresh even after the demise of his mother and the two were said to be very close to each other.

Suresh had confided in Babu that he was planning to purchase a bigger apartment from the sale proceeds he received for his current residence. Upon getting this piece of information, Babu who was debt-ridden laid a plan to murder Suresh and roped in his relatives to execute the crime.

On August 12 night, he entered the residence through the back door and after confirming Suresh was alone he let others inside. The gang initially asked Suresh to give them all the cash and valuables but when he resisted them, they assaulted him with a blunt metal object causing his death. They then fled with the valuables and discarded their mobile phones and gloves in a nearby sewer.

Police questioned Babu after a neighbour’s stated that he had last seen Suresh on November 12 night at 9.30 pm and also seen Babu come to his residence later that night. During the questioning, police noticed that Babu had gay mannerisms and purpotedly had relations with the deceased.
