Six injured in clash in Kolkata’s Kidderpore area

Kolkata: Six people were injured today after a bomb was hurled during a clash between two groups in the Kidderpore area here over a dispute over the possession of a local club, a senior police officer said.
The groups comprised members of the Young Star Club, of whom four have been arrested, he said.
The injured allegedly are members of the club located on the Bhukailash Road area, the officer said.
The clash broke out over a dispute over the possession of the club, he said.
“Heated exchanges soon turned into a fight and the local police was called. A bomb was also hurled and in that six persons were injured,” the IPS officer said.
“One person is undergoing treatment at a state-run hospital while five others were released after primary treatment.
“We are looking into the matter and trying to solve it amicably,” he said.
The officer said that a probe has been initiated into the matter.
Members of the club lodged complaints against each other at the South Port police station.
The situation is peaceful, the officer said.
