Belagavi: Former Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa criticized Karnataka Minister Shivaraj Thangadagi for his controversial remark to “slap those chanting Modi-Modi”. Yediyurappa denounced the statement as “extreme and outrageous” and said it shows the Congress party’s culture.
Yeddyurappa expressed his dismay and called for legal action against Thangadagi for the remarks. “The whole world is looking at Modi with respect. Legal action should be taken against those who spoke light words,” he asserted.
All party workers have agreed to work to secure a resounding victory for Jagadish Shettar from Belgaum Lok Sabha seat, he said and vowed to personally visit each constituency, aiming for a clean sweep of all 28 constituencies this time.
Responding to criticism levelled by Siddaramaiah against Modi, Yediyurappa said the chief minister should assess the appropriateness of his remarks.
Yediyurappa expressed his disbelief at Siddaramaiah dubbing Modi the “most lying Prime Minister.” “I don’t know whether to laugh or cry at this statement,” he said and added that the CM should rather focus on actions which uphold the dignity of the Chief Minister’s position.
Referring to the developments in Mandya, BSY said “It is already decided that HD Kumaraswamy will contest. Sumalatha has ample opportunities…We will reach out to her for discussion. If she is content with our proposals, we will earnestly endeavour to offer her a fitting position.”
