Smirti Irani to visit Amethi on Jan 4

Amethi: Union Minister Smriti Irani will visit Amethi, the parliamentary constituency of Congress president Rahul Gandhi, on January 4, a BJP leader said Sunday.

The Union Textiles Minister will lay the foundation stone of a residential school in the district on her daylong visit, Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Amethi convenor Rajesh Agrahari said.

Amethi is represented in the Lok Sabha by Rahul Gandhi.

Irani had fought the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from here but had lost to the Gandhi scion by over 1 lakh votes.
