Snehadeep’s Tabassum conferred with Mangaluru Press Club Award

Mangaluru: Press Club Day was celebrated at Radhakrishna Mandir, Urwa in the city on Saturday, February 29 under the joint aegis of the Dakshina Kannada District Working Journalists Union, Mangaluru Press Club and Patrika Bhavana Trust celebrated Press Club Day at Radhakrishna Mandir, Urwa on Saturday, February 29.
The programme was inaugurated by popular actor Roopesh Shetty. Addressing the gathering here, Roopesh stressed on the importance of media in highlighting societal problems.
Social worker Tabassum, who runs Snehadeep that takes care of HIV/AIDs affected children, was felicitated with Mangaluru Press Club’s ‘Person of Year’ award. Padmashree awardee Harekala Hajabba and journalist Guruvappa Baalepuni too were felicitated on the occasion.
DCP Laxmi Ganesh, senior journalist Manohar Prasad, Dakshina Kannada District Working Journalists Union president Srinivas Nayak Indaje, Patrika Bhavana Trust president Ananda Shetty and others were present.
