Bengaluru: A software engineer allegedly duped 15 job aspirants. The accused has been identified as Uma Mageshwar and the Ashok Nagar police are in search for the engineer.
Uma was formerly an employee at Experis IT Private Limited. According to the sources, Uma conducted online interviews and shortlisted 15 candidates assuring them of a job and asked for security deposit of Rs.50000 to Rs.2 lakhs. He issued fake offer letters bearing the letterhead of the firm he worked in.
The incident came to light when one of the candidates turned up for work with the offer letter in his hand. After investigating the letter, the management of the firm realised that the candidate has been duped by Uma Mageshwar. They tried to contact Uma but he was not reachable. The management had a tough time convincing the candidates that it was a fake letter and that they have been duped by Uma.
The company filed a complaint with the Ashok Nagara police. The police are examining the money trail to track Uma. Further investigation is still in progress.
