Soldier from Belthangady laid to rest with full military honours

Belthangady: The mortal remains of 34-year-old Indian soldier Sandesh Shetty who died of heart attack was laid to rest at his native village in Barya of Belthangady taluk.

At the village, people paid their homage to Sandesh. The last rites were performed by the family and the body was laid to rest with full military honours.

Sandesh Shetty had resumed duty a few days ago after returning from vacation. He was deployed at a quarantine centre at Mathura and suffered a heart attack there.

He served the Indian Army for the last 14 years.
